A versatile writer, Isabel Allende could be included in many literary movements.

Her feminity and sensuality is conveyed between the romantic plots of her novels. She provides deep insight to her characters’ psyches and explores the passions and emotions that move them. Therefore, she appeals to the fans of the so-called “pink” literature, novels with romantic plots and passionate characters.

Her writing criticizes the tendency to devalue the native traditions, the differences between social classes and the brutality of military forces. Keeping away from the extremes, her novels are neither purely romantic or satirical. The balanced fusion of both I what makes this writer so memorable.

influential writers of this literary movement.
